Authentic Hyderabadi Chicken Biryani Recipe: A Royal Treat

Ingredients
- 1 kg chicken
- 2 cups basmati rice
- 1 cup yogurt
- 2 large onions, sliced
- 1/2 cup cooking oil or ghee
- 1/4 cup milk with a pinch of saffron
- 2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tbsp biryani masala
- Salt to taste
- Fresh coriander and mint leaves
Instructions
- Marinate chicken with yogurt, biryani masala, ginger-garlic paste, and salt. Let it rest for at least 2 hours.
- Fry onions in oil until golden brown. Reserve some for garnishing.
- Partially cook basmati rice with a pinch of salt. Drain and set aside.
- In a heavy-bottomed pot, layer the marinated chicken, followed by a layer of rice, fried onions, and saffron milk.
- Cover tightly and cook on low heat for 30-40 minutes until the chicken is tender and the rice is fully cooked.
